WASHINGTON — Are you the life of the party, driver? The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration wants to know — really.
FMCSA, according to an Oct. 3 notice in the Federal Register, is seeking approval for a new study “to investigate the differences among the characteristics of individual commercial drivers.”
The project, to be conducted by a research contractor, is meant to aid FMCSA in developing future safety initiatives by examining “a wide array of driver and situational factors” to determine if they are associated with increased or decreased incidence of crashes, the federal truck regulator said.
