Natural gas well prepped for Halliburton fracking upsets Reunion neighbors
On Sunday, workers began pumping water, sand, and other chemicals into an existing oil well near the Reunion housing subdivision in Commerce City in an effort to extract natural gas, but some residents are worried about what that might mean for their safety and water supply.
The operation will take place near the intersection of Tower Road and 104th Street, headed up by Halliburton and Hilcorp, among other companies.
Commerce City Council members say they have concerns about residents being properly notified and plan to discuss the issue at Monday's meeting.
